Whittles Sydney acquired by strata giant Smarter Communities

National strata management company, Smarter Communities Pty Ltd, continues to increase its market share with the recent acquisition of the Whittles Group’s NSW strata management portfolio.

Whittles’ portfolio will be managed by the Smarter Communities NSW business, Strata Title Management (STM), a well-established and trusted brand within the strata and property industry.

The acquisition concretes STM’s position well within the top five largest strata management companies in the state.

Smarter Communities Chief Executive Officer, Alexander Lang, said this acquisition sends a strong message to the industry, “We are serious about being a leader in strata and are in this market for the long haul.”

“Over the past three years we’ve made significant investments in our people and technology, now it’s time to grow.”

“We’ve made no secret of our desire to continue to increase our market share within the strata sector. This opportunity came along at the right time and we are all very excited and extremely proud of the acquisition.”

“Whittles were, and rightly so, fiercely protective of their portfolio. For STM to be entrusted with the ongoing management of its buildings is evidence of the high-level service we provide and the mutual respect between the two businesses,” says Lang.

The acquisition takes effect immediately.

STM was established in 1978 and has five offices in Sydney metropolitan and regional NSW. The company has strong ties with strata industry association, SCA (NSW), and are strong advocates for raising the profile of professional strata management.

Parent company, Smarter Communities, is a family-owned business with operations in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. Collectively the Group manages around 4,500 properties throughout the country.
